Job Summary


This position will be located in St. George, Utah.  Are you willing to relocate to St. George? 

The Manager of Engineering and Maintenance overseas the equipment and maintenance operations at Innovative Labs. Schedules and prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance as well as assigning specific projects.  Develops specifications for new equipment to support operational goals and objectives.

 

Job Duties


Tactical (80%)

  • Establish and maintain PM schedules on all equipment utilized in manufacturing in support of cGMP requirements.
  • Establish productivity expectations and tracks the production and activity of the maintenance work force.
  • Manages tool crib in support of PM schedule and ensures that costs are minimized while providing the highest service level in support of operations.
  • Effectively trains, coaches disciplines and develops employees to achieve and maintain positive working relationships with the maintenance team.
  • Develops and maintains files on all equipment for historical data
  • Interprets operational manuals, manufacturer’s specifications, blue prints and schematics for manufacturing and ancillary equipment.
  • Initiates and supports process improvement projects
  • Ensures the ready status of idle equipment.
  • Manages procurement activity of repair and maintenance goods and services through via requisitions while assisting the purchasing agent in the reconciliation of invoice discrepancies.
  • Develops and supports an annual spare parts budget.
  • Supports the equipment calibration program in accordance of cGMP’s
  • Models and reinforces safety as a top priority of the organization.
  • Supports quality in (HACCP) implementation and ongoing support of the SQF code.


Strategic (20%)

  • Manages and leads cap-ex equipment purchases for equipment ensuring process capabilities are understood and supported through robust FAT protocol.
  • Identify productivity enhancements for operations and provide critical data for NPV calculations.

Evaluates process capabilities relative to new technology transfer opportunities


Required Skills

  • Ability to understand and interpret product quality, specifications, and regulatory documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally orally, in writing and in person
  • Provide training to all areas regarding cleaning and sanitation

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience and Education


  • BS degree in related field
  • 5+ years of progressive supervisory experience
  • Extensive background in packaging and/or food processing equipment
  • Food Manufacturing Experience – Required
  • Process and Packaging Experience -  Preferred
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience -  Required
  • Report to General Manager of Facility
  • Good Analytical and Communication Skills
  • CI skills would be a plus
