Job Summary


The Laboratory Technician position at IFP is vital to the success of the lab as well as the overall success of manufacturing quality products at IFP.  The Laboratory Technician is directly supervised by the Laboratory Manager. The Lab Technician is to work under minimal supervision upon completion of training. 

 

Job Duties


  • Train and become proficient in running the following equipment:
    • ICP-MS
    • UPLC
    • HPLC
    • GC
  • Receipt of finished goods samples from production floor
  • Receipt of Raw Materials samples from QA sample technician
  • Calibration/documentation of all instruments involved in testing
  • Physical testing of finished goods samples
  • FTIR analysis for identification of raw materials
  • Physical testing of raw materials samples
  • Laboratory cleaning and organization


Required Skills


  • The ability read, speak and understand basic English
  • Must possess oral / written communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Follow GMP standards and guidelines
  • Understand and apply information set forth in SOP’s
  • Handle confidential information
  • Ability to cross train in 2 or more areas within the Quality

 

Experience and Education


  • High School Diploma or GED

 

Physical Demands

 

Frequently involves sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Involves a variety of physical activities including:

Walking                                      

Manual Dexterity

Hearing

Repetitive motions

 

Work Environment


The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas were under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
